Looks like Russ is passing close to Lake Disappointment.
Message from Russ
Confucius say: he who fill up water bladders will soon have many high dunes to surpass RW of W22

If you want to get some perspective of what Russell is seeing - have a look at the following website for some great photos.
CSR. Interesting, the last couple of days have been very hard for him. The reason why is...
The distance, 65 km between Wells 42 and 41 is longest vehicle distance between any of the wells on the whole stock route. On top of this there are more sand dunes between these two wells (46) than any other section. They are also the highest !!

The following text messages have been received from Russ whilst he is riding on the Canning Stock Route (CSR).

Mon 25/5 No Comment!!
Looking over a dry lake bed from top of dune at the moment. Incredible!
At least today started easier. Yesterday was SOUL destroying. Massive Dunes! Hope 2 reach Well 41 by tomorrow.

Sun 24/5 Desert Rain
Cumlonimbu (Cb) clouds rolled in yesterday afternoon. Gusty winds, midnight rain. 5AM Bueat desert rainbow. Tracks too wet too ride so time for Hot Chocolate. Between Well 44 and 43. Getting water from leaves.

Fri 23/5
Resting, washing, eating and drinking heaps. At well 41
A head of next big push. Biggest dunes are very hard to climb.
I know many more still adhead. Very few people - 2 small groups.

Thur 21/5 Desert Tax!
I paid lots yesterday. Hope today is kinder. It is so amazing out here.
Haven't seen a soul until late yesterday. Starry nights are amazing.

I will be on the CSR beginning to mid June travelling with a tour group.
I'll let them know that you are out there somewhere and may be we will be able to organize a fundraiser for the RFDS there and then somehow, or encourage people to donate later.
Your photos are awesome!
All the best.

Following SPOT showing your progress inching across Google Earth I'm sure cannot convey the effort required to peddle the sand dunes.

Some of the photos though, give an indication of what a small section of one dune is like ... then when I start seeing how many dunes there are to cross .... you are a legend Russ !!!

Hey Russ,
It looks like you are over half way down the CSR. You are making this look easy ;-)
I look forward to hearing what is really like.
